Singsation! has written and organised performances of two community musical plays in Nottingham in the UK. On this site you will be able to find links to words, music and videos of the individual songs so that you can watch and join in!

The first Singsational Nottingham! was a fun evening of music and laughter that took place in  April 2013 and raised over £1100 for Water Aid.

Using the specially written play “Mabel takes a Shower”, the evening explored all the ways and places that community singing comes into our lives.

The second Singsational Nottingham! took place on Saturday May 17th 2014.  Using a specially written play called ” Hop the Pigeon”, it was a Community Musical based on WW1.  It explored the effect of WW1 on the local community in Beeston, Nottingham and highlighted the devastating explosion that took place at the Chilwell munitions works in 1918.  Singsational Nottingham! was a true community event where the audience sung the songs, provided the sound effects and acted the part in various crowd scenes.

Once again the evening enabled those who do not belong to a choir or singing group, but who love a “good sing”, to come and do just that.  During the interval there was a chance to find out more about local choirs and there were displays by the Beeston and Bramcote local history societies and also a display of work inspired by WW1 from Alderman White and Bramcote Schools.
