Press release for 2014 coming soon
Nottingham night of music promises to be ‘Singsational!’
The popular success of TV programmes such as “The Choir” have inspired local amateur choir master and enthusiast Chris Bridges to go one step further and organise Singsational Nottingham! – an evening of singing for everybody and anybody on Saturday April 20n, in Beeston.
Chris says “There are thousands of songs that everyone “knows” even if they do not realise it. At Singsational Nottingham! everyone can come along and sing some of them, as much as they like, as well as they like, with no pressure and no rehearsal- just like you do in the shower! All you need is a willingness to join in and have fun!”
He continues “People join choirs because it feels great to make music together in large groups. It doesn’t matter if your voice is rusty, or even non-existent, surrounded by fellow music makers you will be able to sing as loudly or softly as you want. Singsational Nottingham! will let everyone experience the buzz of singing – and all in a good cause.
Music to be sung will range from “On Ilkley Moor b’aht ‘at” and “Jerusalem” to “Mud, mud, glorious mud”. The music will be led by a mixture of live musicians and karaoke and there will be a wide range of styles to be enjoyed.
During the interval local choirs, singing groups and amateur operatic companies will have stands displaying details about their activities, so that anyone who feels inspired to make music on a more regular basis can find out more information.
Singsational Nottingham! will raise funds for the charity Water Aid (www.wateraid.org)
Singsational Nottingham! will commence at 7.30pm on Saturday April 20th at Chilwell Road Methodist Church, Beeston, Nottingham, NG9 1EH. Tickets will cost £5 and are available on the door, or in advance by contacting 0115 943 1164. Further details can be found on www.singsation.org and at www.facebook.com/SingLikeYourInTheShower
